A Star Wars inspired bar does not need a hangar. It needs one clear planet mood, lighting that does most of the work, and a drink that tastes like the setting looks. Below are 25 imagined bars, from a sandy Mos Espa tavern to a velvet Alderaan lounge, sorted into six moods. Each mood ends with a build sheet (palette, light, materials, layout, where to spend first) and a cocktail spec with a zero-proof version, for a permanent home bar or a one-night party corner.
Links marked (paid link) are affiliate links. The pictures are styling inspiration, so search results will vary.
A note on the pictures: they are concept images of fictional bars on fictional worlds. None is a real venue; the names are our mood labels. This is fan-inspired styling, not official Star Wars design.
Plan Your Star Wars Inspired Bar Before You Buy Anything
Rushed themed bars fail the same way: too many colors, too few outlets, and stools that do not fit the counter. Settle these four things first.
- Measure the footprint. A bar cart fits almost anywhere. A counter with stools needs about 24 in (61 cm) of width per stool, plus room behind to pull each stool out.
- Match stool to surface. Bar-height counters sit around 42 in (107 cm) and suit stools with a 28 to 30 in (71 to 76 cm) seat. Kitchen-counter height is about 36 in (91 cm) and suits 24 to 26 in (61 to 66 cm) stools. Leave 10 to 12 in (25 to 30 cm) between seat and counter underside for knees.
- Find your power. Lighting carries every one of these themes, so count outlets before you count props. Plug-in strips and lamps avoid new wiring, which suits renters.
- Split permanent from party. Paint, wall panels and shelving stay. Colored bulbs, fabric, signs and props can pack into one labeled bin after the party.
Then pick one mood and commit. One planet, even on a single shelf, reads as a design choice; three read as a costume shop.
Desert Cantina: Sand, Rust and Warm Bulbs
Tatooine, Jakku and Jedha share a forgiving, cheap look: worn surfaces, warm low light and salvaged things. Scuffs only help, so it suits a garage, basement or patio bar.
Womp Rat Tavern (Mos Espa mood)

Borrow: one oversized wall piece. A single large prop or print above the bar beats twenty small ones.
Rustbucket’s Bar (Junk Town, Jakku mood)

Borrow: salvage as decor. Old gears, clock faces and metal parts from a thrift store, hung in a tight cluster, give you the scavenger feel. Keep them to one wall.
Twin Suns Taproom (Anchorhead mood)

Borrow: a sunset palette. Rust, apricot and sand on the walls, with a string of warm bulbs overhead, gives a patio or sunroom this glow at any hour.
The Crystal Howl (Jedha City mood)

Borrow: pendants hung low over a textured wall. Faux stone or limewash catches shadows from warm pendants, and lit bottles become the bright note.
Desert cantina build sheet
- Palette: sand, terracotta, rust, with faded denim blue as the one cool accent.
- Light: warm bulbs in the 2,200K to 2,700K range, kept low. Try dimmable warm white LED strip lights (paid link) under the counter lip for a glow that hides scuffs.
- Materials: limewash or textured paint, reclaimed or rough-sawn wood, clay pots, aged metal. For a cave wall in an afternoon, try peel and stick faux stone wall panels (paid link).
- Layout: a long counter or heavy table on one wall, stools facing the room.
- Spend first on: paint and bulbs. Thrift the wood and metal. An industrial metal bar cart (paid link) works if you have no counter.
Twin Suns Honey Sour
Makes 1 drink. Syrup makes about 1 cup (240 ml) and keeps up to 2 weeks refrigerated.
Ingredients
- 2 oz (60 ml) bourbon
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) honey ginger syrup (below)
- 1 dash aromatic bitters
- Ice, plus 1 large cube for serving
- Strip of orange peel
- For the syrup: 1/2 cup (120 ml) honey, 1/2 cup (120 ml) hot water, 1 in (2.5 cm) fresh ginger, thinly sliced
Steps
- Make the syrup: stir honey into hot water until dissolved, add ginger, steep 20 minutes, strain and chill.
- Add bourbon, lemon, syrup and bitters to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for about 12 seconds, until the tin is frosty.
- Strain over one large cube in a rocks glass.
- Squeeze the orange peel over the drink, rub the rim, and drop it in.
Zero-proof version: Swap the bourbon for 2 oz (60 ml) chilled strong black tea (a smoky lapsang souchong suits the desert) and add an extra 1/4 oz (7 ml) syrup. Shake and serve the same way.
Ice Planet Lounge: Cold Light, Warm Textures
Hoth and Ilum are easy to overdo; pure blue everywhere feels like a freezer aisle. Balance cold light on hard surfaces with something soft and warm where people sit.
Echo Hall (Hoth mood)

Borrow: clear furniture and backlit bottles. Clear seats and tables, such as clear acrylic bar stools (paid link), disappear under blue light, so the glassware becomes the ice.
Jedi’s Respite (Ilum mood)

Borrow: a warm pocket inside the cold. Wood and candlelight against snow make it suit a holiday gathering with no seasonal props.
Ice planet build sheet
- Palette: white, glacier blue, pale gray, birch, with one warm wood or amber note.
- Light: cool white (4,000K to 5,000K) on shelves and under counters, warm light at seating height. An LED lighted bottle display shelf (paid link) gives the glowing bottle wall in one purchase.
- Materials: frosted or clear acrylic, glass, white boucle or faux sheepskin (paid link) on stools and benches, birch logs in a basket.
- Layout: a cart or narrow console; clear and white pieces keep small rooms open.
- Spend first on: the lit shelf and soft textiles. Skip fake snow; it gets into glasses.
Echo Base Frost Highball
Makes 1 drink.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) gin
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) blue curacao
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice
- 3 to 4 oz (90 to 120 ml) chilled tonic water
- Ice and a thin lime wheel
Steps
- Fill a highball glass with ice.
- Add gin, blue curacao and lime juice, then stir briefly to chill.
- Top with tonic and lift once with a bar spoon so the color evens out.
- Slide the lime wheel down the inside of the glass.
Zero-proof version: Use 2 oz (60 ml) chilled butterfly pea flower tea and 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup in place of the gin and curacao, then top with tonic. Serve the lime on the side: when guests squeeze it in, the blue tea shifts toward violet.
Party trick: tonic water contains quinine, which glows a pale blue under ultraviolet light. A UV black light bulb (paid link) in one lamp makes every highball on this bar glow. For more gin ideas, see our Star Wars gin cocktails.
Sith Red and Lava Glow: Drama in a Small Footprint
Mustafar, Dathomir and the dark side palette suit small spaces, because dark walls make corners disappear. In October this mood doubles as a grown-up Halloween bar.
The Molten Flask (Mustafar mood)

Borrow: light the counter, not the ceiling. Red and orange LEDs behind a frosted panel or under a counter overhang give the molten effect.
The Crimson Spill (Sith world mood)

Borrow: glossy surfaces. Polished tables and black glass double every red light, so you need fewer fixtures.
The Ember Fang (Dathomir mood)

Borrow: one acid green accent. Keep green to bottle backlighting or one lamp, and let red carry the rest.
The Void Echo (Deep Space mood)

Borrow: a ceiling of stars. A galaxy star projector (paid link) aimed at a dark ceiling gives the skylight effect for a party, and red LED tape along the bar edge finishes the station look.
Sith red build sheet
- Palette: black, oxblood, ember orange, with optional acid green. Our cherry red home decor ideas show how far red can go in a room.
- Light: red and amber LED tape behind bottles and under the counter, plus one warm white task light where you pour, so you can still read a jigger.
- Materials: matte black paint, black glass or mirror, faux leather, lacquered trays.
- Layout: alcove, closet or a single dark accent wall behind a cart.
- Spend first on: paint and LED tape.
Mustafar Blood Orange Margarita
Makes 1 drink.
Ingredients
- 1 oz (30 ml) mezcal
- 1 oz (30 ml) blanco tequila
- 1 oz (30 ml) blood orange juice
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) agave syrup (equal parts agave nectar and warm water)
- Chili salt for the rim, ice, and a blood orange wheel
Steps
- Run a lime wedge around half the rim of a rocks glass and dip it in chili salt.
- Shake mezcal, tequila, blood orange, lime and agave syrup hard with ice.
- Strain into the glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with the blood orange wheel.
Zero-proof version: Shake 2 oz (60 ml) blood orange juice, 3/4 oz (22 ml) lime and 1/2 oz (15 ml) agave syrup with ice, strain over fresh ice, add a pinch of smoked salt and top with 2 oz (60 ml) ginger beer.
Blood oranges are a winter fruit. Out of season, use regular orange juice with 1/4 oz (7 ml) pomegranate juice for color.
Cloud City and Coruscant Glamour: Sleek, Glossy, Up High
The largest group here, and the best fit for a living room bar. Bespin leans soft and sunset colored, Coruscant midnight and neon, Canto Bight and Alderaan brass and velvet. The shared rules: curves, reflection, comfortable seating.
The Driftspace Lounge (Bespin mood)

Borrow: curved, low seating facing the light. Tufted sofas in warm caramel set toward a big window give the floating feel.
The Starlight Groove (Coruscant mood)

Borrow: dark furniture against a bright backdrop, with neon trim at the edges. A few smart color changing bulbs (paid link) can shift the room from cocktail hour to late night.
The Skywell (Upper Coruscant mood)

Borrow: one statement ceiling fixture. A sculptural pendant over a glossy counter sets the era.
Starspire Lounge (Canto Bight mood)

Borrow: mirror plus brass. A mirrored back wall or tray and brass details make a small bar read twice its size.
The Velvet Cantina (Alderaan mood)

Borrow: fabric as architecture. Floor to ceiling velvet curtains (paid link) behind a cart create a stage for the bar.
Carbonite & Clove (luxury starship mood)

Borrow: curved light trim. A warm LED strip traced along curved shelving makes a plain bottle wall look like a starship galley.
The Jade Flask (Chiss mood)

Borrow: one color, many reflections. A single teal light on glossy black surfaces looks expensive.
Glamour build sheet
- Palette: cream, brass, peach and dusty rose for Bespin; midnight, cyan and violet for Coruscant; plum and gold for Alderaan.
- Light: dimmable warm white as the base, with smart bulbs for a color change after dinner.
- Materials: curved upholstery, velvet, brass, mirror, smoked glass, coupe glasses.
- Layout: lounge style. Low seating and small round tables matter more than a counter here.
- Spend first on: one curved seat or one dramatic textile, then a mirror. For the food side, our tiny bites for a galactic gala fit this mood.
Cloud City 75
Makes 1 drink.
Ingredients
- 1 oz (30 ml) gin
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup (equal parts sugar and hot water, cooled)
- 3 oz (90 ml) chilled brut sparkling wine
- Lemon twist
Steps
- Chill a flute or coupe in the freezer for 10 minutes.
- Shake gin, lemon and syrup with ice until cold.
- Strain into the chilled glass.
- Top slowly with sparkling wine and add the twist.
Zero-proof version: Shake 1/2 oz (15 ml) lemon with 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup, strain into the glass and top with 4 oz (120 ml) nonalcoholic sparkling wine. With sparkling white grape juice instead, skip the syrup.

Garden and Temple Calm: Lanterns, Stone and Green
Naboo, Felucia, Yavin 4 and a quiet Jedi moon make the gentlest bars here, ideal for a sunroom or covered patio that doubles as a reading corner.
The Hanging Moon (Naboo mood)

Borrow: clustered lanterns at different heights. Three or five hung together read as one fixture.
The Blossom Drift (Felucia mood)

Borrow: uplit greenery. A cheap clip light under a large plant throws leaf shadows on the ceiling. Add pink or blue bulbs for the alien version.
The Glass Lantern (Yavin 4 Temple mood)

Borrow: stone plus trailing plants. Faux stone panels and pothos spilling off a shelf get you most of the way, and plug-in rattan pendant light (paid link) options add warmth without hardwiring.
The Murmuring Orb (Jedi moon mood)

Borrow: rounded seating and soft cushions. Curves turn a corner into a retreat.
Garden and temple build sheet
- Palette: moss, stone, warm gold, lake blue, with a hit of pink if you lean Felucia.
- Light: lanterns and flameless LED pillar candles (paid link), which are the safe choice near plants and fabric.
- Materials: rattan, faux stone, linen, ceramic, real or good faux plants.
- Layout: a corner with a round table and curved seating, the bar on a side cabinet.
- Spend first on: plants and lanterns, which move rooms later.
Naboo Garden Cooler (zero-proof first)
Makes 1 drink. Caffeine-free when made with pure butterfly pea flower tea.
Ingredients
- 3 oz (90 ml) chilled butterfly pea flower tea (1 tsp dried flowers steeped in 1 cup / 240 ml hot water for 5 minutes, strained and cooled)
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) honey syrup (equal parts honey and hot water)
- 3 thin cucumber slices
- 2 oz (60 ml) chilled soda water
- Ice
Steps
- Muddle two cucumber slices with the honey syrup in a tall glass.
- Fill with ice and pour in the blue tea.
- Add the lemon juice at the table and watch the tea turn violet.
- Top with soda water and garnish with the last cucumber slice.
Zero-proof version: This one is zero-proof as written. For a spirited version, add 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) gin with the tea.
Brew the tea up to 2 days ahead and keep it refrigerated. Find dried butterfly pea flower tea (paid link) online or at tea shops, and see our Star Wars inspired fizzy drinks for more alcohol-free ideas.
Outer Rim Neon Dive: Loud, Cheap and Cheerful
Corellia, Lothal and the Outer Rim give the most fun per dollar. Nothing has to match, and one good sign does the work of a renovation. Ideal for a game room.
Blue Nova Bar (Corellia mood)

Borrow: cold blue light on exposed pipes. Paint pipe shelving one bold color, then add a custom LED neon sign (paid link) with a made up bar name, the biggest single upgrade in this mood.
The Lurking Mynock (Outer Rim station mood)

Borrow: red booths under neon. If a booth is not an option, red cushions on a bench under two small signs give the same effect.
Binary Brew Hall (Lothal mood)

Borrow: a brew hall layout for crowds. Long tables and simple pendants suit a basement card night.
The Drunken Hyperdrive (Smuggler cantina mood)

Borrow: a busy ceiling. If you own posters, ship models or signs, hang them overhead. It keeps shelves free for bottles.
Neon dive build sheet
- Palette: black, electric blue, hot pink, brick red.
- Light: one or two neon signs plus very dim warm ambient light. Too much overhead light kills the glow.
- Materials: brick panels, corrugated metal, exposed pipe shelving, framed posters. Our Star Wars wall art ideas help with the walls.
- Layout: a cart or pipe shelf against one wall, with standing room. Dive bars are for mingling.
- Spend first on: the sign, then shelving.
Outer Rim Rum Punch (batch)
Makes about 11 servings of 4 oz (120 ml), each with about 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) rum. Chill 2 hours.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (480 ml) aged rum
- 1 cup (240 ml) pineapple juice
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) fresh lime juice (about 6 limes)
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) demerara syrup (equal parts demerara sugar and hot water, cooled)
- 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
- 4 dashes aromatic bitters
- Whole nutmeg for grating, ice for serving
Steps
- Stir the syrup until the sugar fully dissolves, then cool it.
- Combine rum, pineapple, lime, syrup, water and bitters in a pitcher.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, and up to 8 hours for the freshest lime.
- Pour 4 oz (120 ml) over ice in each glass and grate nutmeg on top.
Zero-proof version: Make a second pitcher with 2 cups (480 ml) chilled strong black tea in place of the rum, and label both clearly.

The Shared Bar Kit: Tools, Glass and Ice
Whatever the planet, the working parts are the same. Get these right before the props.
- Tools: a cocktail shaker set with jigger (paid link) covers shaking, measuring and straining. Add a bar spoon, a citrus press and a small cutting board.
- Glass: rocks glasses, highballs and coupes cover every drink in this post.
- Ice: a large clear ice cube mold (paid link) for sours and margaritas, plus a bag of regular ice for shaking and highballs. Plan on about 1 lb (450 g) of ice per guest for a party.
- Prep: make syrups and tea a day ahead; squeeze citrus on the day.
- Labels: small tent cards for each drink, with zero-proof options marked just as clearly as the cocktails.

Hosting Night: Turning the Corner into a Party Bar
New Year’s Eve is a natural fit for a themed bar: the Cloud City 75 makes a midnight toast, and the punch runs itself while you host. The same setup suits a movie marathon.
- Choose three drinks only: one batch, one shaken, one zero-proof.
- Set the punch and the zero-proof pitcher at one end so guests can serve themselves, and keep shaken drinks for the host.
- Put the brightest light where you pour and the moodiest light where people sit.
- Keep food beside the bar, not across the room. Our small plates inspired by Coruscant nightclubs are easy to eat standing, and the Star Wars dinner recipes cover a sit-down meal first.
- Stock water in plain sight, with glasses, all night.
Want the printables? Our Twelve Bells New Year’s Eve Party Kit has invitations, cocktail and mocktail cards and a countdown clock. Use the New Year’s Eve countdown party shopping list to stock up, and see more printable party kits in our shop.
Safety Notes Worth Keeping
- Measure every pour. These specs use 1 1/2 to 2 oz (45 to 60 ml) of spirit per drink, so use a jigger, not a free pour. Offer food and water, plan rides home, and never serve anyone under 21.
- Dry ice stays out of glasses. For a smoky effect, set dry ice in a separate bowl of warm water, handle it with gloves or tongs, and keep the room ventilated. Never drop pellets into a drink.
- Use flameless candles near fabric and plants.
- Keep plug-in lighting dry. Run LED strips and cords away from the ice bucket and any sink, and use plug-in lights that carry a safety listing such as UL or ETL.
- Label allergens. Note honey, citrus and any nut-based syrups or bitters on the drink cards.
